On the heels of the Miles Plumlee pick, the Pacers made a move in the second round to gain the 36th pick from the Sacramento Kings for cash. The move brings the UC Santa Barbara product to the Pacers. Johnson would come to the Pacers as one of UCSB's most celebrated players, the school's all-time leading scorer and top three point shooter, a 20 point per game scorer in the 2011-12 season with the Gauchos.
Johnson has the ability to offer a scoring punch off the Pacers bench, averaging 19.7 points and 42.9% from three point range and had some big scoring nights against schools like UNLV and Washington. In addition to his abilities as a scorer, Johnson has taken a tough road on his way to the NBA, giving him all the more reason to be excited about his opportunities to play in the NBA.
Kevin Pritchard suggested on Twitter that the team may be players in the second round despite not having a pick, and managed to grab themselves a scoring wing for cash. Are the Pacers finished?
