Defensive lineman Vernon Butler committed to Louisiana Tech last weekend during his official visit to Ruston. Since that time a new player, Southern Miss, has emerged in his recruitment. Despite his pledge to the Bulldogs, Butler has elected to take a pair of official visits to remove any doubt about his college future.
