WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - In conjunction with the final home dual meet of the season, Purdue swimming and diving will also be participating in the first annual Breaststroke 4 Hope swim-a-thon at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center Saturday morning.

Breaststroke 4 Hope is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against breasts cancer through a series of fundraising swim-a-thons and the sales of the official Speedo/Breaststroke 4 Hope Collection, which will launch in September.

Beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, the one-hour Breaststroke 4 Hope event is expected to feature over 150 swimmers representing 30 teams. Members of the Purdue Greek Life community will team with the men's and women's swimming and diving teams for the relay swims. Participants are striving to raise money for breast cancer education and awareness, reaching out into their communities to collect lap pledges and flat donations for the cause.

Purdue will then host Michigan State at 2 p.m. for the final co-ed dual meet of the season at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center. Admission is free to both events. Donations will also be collected at the dual meet against MSU with all proceeds going to the Central Indiana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure in Indianapolis.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink Saturday for both the swim-a-thon and dual meet. The festive atmosphere is expected to feature live radio broadcasts, a live on-site DJ, refreshments, free raffles for great prizes and a silent auction items featuring Olympic swim legend Ryan Lochte.
