Peyton Manning Wants To Stay With Colts In 2012 - SB Nation

The Indianapolis Colts still have not made a decision regarding quarterback Peyton Manning and his future with the team. Or at least, if they have, they haven't told anyone yet. But as far as the 11-time Pro Bowler and five-time first-team All-Pro is concerned, he'd like to remain in Indianapolis, where he started his professional football career. According to the New York Post, Peyton's dad, Archie Manning, said that Manning wants to remain with the Colts:

"Peyton kind of likes his roots in Indy," Archie Manning said yesterday after watching his youngest son, Eli Manning, lead the Giants to a 37-20 Divisional victory over the Packers at Lambeau Field. "We'll see what happens there. If that doesn't work and he can get healthy we'll see. That'll all work out. He's just trying to get healthy."

It makes sense that Manning would want to stay in Indianapolis, he hasn't really had to learn any kind of new offense since his rookie season. He's had continuity that every quarterback craves in the NFL, and although things are going to be changing within the organization with a new general manager and potentially a new head coach, with Manning under center, you can bet that the offense won't change too much.

Indy is in a position in which most feel they'll draft Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Most feel that Luck can come in and start in his rookie season, so it makes it a really interesting situation with Manning still under contract. Manning's neck injury that put him out for the season both hurts him and helps him. It hurts him because there's now serious doubts about his ability to come back, but it helps him because now they've seen what the team looks like without him.
