NCAA Basketball Bracketology: ESPN Has Hoosiers As A Two Seed - SB Nation

The second major bracketology of the week is out and it favors Indiana and their new top eight ranking. The same teams that made SB Nation's bracket are in the ESPN bracket according to Joe Lunardi, with Buffalo replacing Ball State from the MAC:

  • The Indiana Hoosiers are the No. 2 seed in the South Region, and would play close to home in Louisville in this bracket. Their first round foe would bring back unpleasant memories, as Cleveland State upset the Hoosiers as a three seed in the 1986 NCAA Tournament.
  • The Louisville Cardinals are a No. 4 seed also in the South Region, facing Southern Miss.
  • The Purdue Boilermakers are a seed higher as well at No. 7, facing Wichita State in the Midwest Region in the West Region.
  • The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are listed on the bad side of the bubble as the first team out.
  • Of note is the Missouri Valley Conference getting two bids, meaning the Indiana St. Sycamores could be in consideration for a return trip to the tournament if they turn things around.
