On Tuesday, the NBA released the 2012 preseason schedule for the Indiana Pacers. Indiana’s preseason starts at the Fargodome on Wednesday, October 10th against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Pacers’ preseason ends sixteen days later against the Chicago Bulls on Friday, October 26th on the campus of Notre Dame.
After the opening game in North Dakota against the Timberwolves, both teams will travel back to Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indiana, where they will meet again on Friday, October 12th. Three games out of the seven-game preseason will be home games for the Pacers in Indiana. After the first home game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse against the Timberwolves, the Pacers will follow up with a second game at Indiana on Tuesday, October 16th against the Atlanta Hawks, and a third home game on Saturday, October 20th against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Pacers will also travel to Florida to face the Orlando Magic on Friday, October 19th, and to Ohio to face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday, October 23rd, before finishing their preseason schedule in an away game against the division rival Chicago Bulls in South Bend, Indiana, on the campus of Notre Dame. The Bulls will be playing without former NBA MVP Derrick Rose for much of the 2012-2013 season. Rose went down with an ACL injury in the first game of the opening round of last season’s NBA Playoffs.
After a busy 2012 preseason, the Indiana Pacers will begin the 2012 regular season schedule on Halloween night in Canada, going up against the Toronto Raptors.
