Indianaâs top rated recruit in the class of 2014 has decided to reopen the recruiting process.
Trey Lyles, who committed to the Hoosiers on September 26 of 2010, is no longer committed to Indiana according to his high school coach at Indianapolis Tech, Jason Delaney.
âTrey Lyles has decided to open his recruitment,â Delaney wrote on his Twitter account this afternoon. âHe loves IU & it is still #1 but he would like to have something to compare it to.â
What Lyles will have to compare Indiana to will likely be several of the nationâs top schools.
The 6-foot-9 forward is a consensus top 10 player nationally and had a strong summer playing for Spiece Indy Heat and Team Canada in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship and the Nike Global Challenge.
As a sophomore at Tech, he averaged 21.0 points and 14.2 rebounds and was named the City Player of the Year.
