The move by the Butler Bulldogs over to the Atlantic 10 from the Horizon League was made tentatively official on Tuesday, but there was still no word from the school itself. That changed on Wednesday, when the Indianapolis Star's David Woods on twitter made the announcement that Butler has officially told the Horizon that they will be jumping ship for the A10 and will be holding a news conference at some point later in the day.
Butler will be moving to the Atlantic 10 following some fantastic strides in the school's basketball program over the last decade of play that has included two appearances in the NCAA Tournament final, though both appearances led to losses against Duke and UCONN.
A later tweet by Woods confirmed that the news conference will be held at 1:00 p.m.
