NBA Playoff Picture 2012: Orlando Magic Clinch Indiana Pacers Matchup - Orlando Pinstriped Post

The Orlando Magic punched their ticket to Indianapolis for the first round of the NBA Playoffs on Wednesday, clinching the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and a series against the Indiana Pacers. Orlando's defeat of the Charlotte Bobcats ensured the New York Knicks could not catch them for the sixth seed; they will finish either seventh or eighth.

Orlando won the season series, 3-1, against Indiana, but did so with Dwight Howard at center. Howard, a six-time All-Star, is out for the season after undergoing back surgery to repair a herniated disc.

Dates for the playoff series have yet to be set. Indiana has homecourt advantage by dint of having the better overall record.

Magic playoff tickets went on sale on Friday, April 20th, at the Amway Center box offices, OrlandoMagic.com, all TicketMaster locations, and by telephone at 1-800-4NBA-TIX.
