Lakers Schedule 2012: Battle With Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic Highlights Weekend - SB Nation

The Los Angeles Lakers have a pair of upcoming games this weekend against two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. The Lakers close out their brief Florida road trip Friday night against Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic, then return home for a Sunday night battle against the surprising Indiana Pacers.

Friday - Lakers at Orlando, 5 p.m. (ESPN, KCAL): The Lakers get to see Howard up close and personal, amid rumors that the dynamic center wants out of Orlando. Howard is averaging 20.1 points and 15.6 rebounds per game, and creating his usual havoc on the defensive end. Conversely, the Magic get a look at Andrew Bynum, who is enjoying his finest season in the pivot for Los Angeles. The Lakers have lost their last three regular season games in Orlando.

Sunday - Indiana at Lakers, 6:30 p.m. (Fox Sports West): The second game of the day at Staples Center (the Clippers host Toronto in the afternoon on Sunday) gives us a 2000 NBA Finals rematch. Indiana has started their season 9-4 and have a whopping 10 players averaging in double-figures in points per game, led by Danny Granger at 15.3 points per contest.

Through Sunday, the Lakers will have played 12 of their first 18 games at Staples Center, including one road contest against the Clippers.
