Colts drafting Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin - Yahoo! Sports (blog)

US Presswire

The Indianapolis Colts have the top pick in this year's draft and team owner Jim Irsay indicated in an in interview with ESPN that he is planning on picking one of two available quarterbacks -- Stanford's Andrew Luck or Baylor's Robert Griffin III -- no matter what Peyton Manning's health or contract situation is with the team.

"With Griffin and Luck and the way it's shaping up at the top of the draft â€" could very likely go one and two like with Peyton and Ryan Leaf," Irsay told ESPN. "It's most likely one of those quarterbacks that you really feel is the best player in the draft, and where we're at moving forward you can't pass that up. I don't think anyone would expect that."

Irsay also said that he probably would make the same choice even if Manning, a four-time NFL MVP, was totally healthy, though of course it was Manning's injury that even made getting the first pick a possibility for the team.
