This should be an interesting season to watch as how much time will be given to the starters and how much time will be given to the bench players.  Personally, I know the starters are the better bunch, and this season they might have to be called upon for more minutes. But with the young group they have, that shouldn’t be a problem.
A full off season can lead to conditioning the body to work those extra minutes.  We saw at times last year how the bench players would come in and lose the lead for this Pacers team.  With the recent additions of DJ Augustin, Gerald Green, and Ian Mahinmi who knows how quickly those guys will blend in.  Or even if they can perform well for this good team.
That’s why a guy like Roy Hibbert should get more minutes and really put himself up there to play a good portion of the game.  Paul George looks like he could play a lot more time if needed.  George Hill can play some point guard with the second unit to keep them going.
Just some thoughts on the idea that the Pacers’ starters could see significant minutes this coming season.
