It appears as though Purdue's Robbie Hummel is drawing legitimate interest from the NBA.
May 15, 2012 - When the NBA holds their pre-Draft camp in Chicago this coming June, Purdue Boilermakers' forward Robbie Hummel will be in attendance. An honorary Associated Press All-American mention in 2012, Hummel understands that the invitation is an accomplishment in itself.
His comments courtesy of Gold & Black Illustrated:
"That's a pretty big deal," Hummel said. "(Agent Mark Bartlestein) was pretty excited about that."
In addition to the pre-draft camp, Hummel will also be visiting with the San Antonio Spurs on May 22 and will be attending a group workout in Minnesota where he and a dozen other players will be looked at by representatives from all of the NBA's teams.
What it all amounts to is that it appears as though Hummel has a legitimate opportunity to earn himself a spot on an NBA roster next season. In anticipation of this, he has been working out in Indianapolis to build his strength and to improve his surgically repaired knee.
"I've improved so much from being able to work out every day, with the weights every day and the basketball workouts I've been doing in Indianapolis," Hummel said. "It's been great. I think I've regained some explosiveness, speed and athleticism. I'm really happy with where I am right now."
