David Morway may be on his way out for the Indiana Pacers, as he's meeting with Paul Allen, the Portland Trail Blazers owner, on Friday.
May 10, 2012 - The Indiana Pacers could soon be without their general manager, David Morway. Adrian Wojnarowski Tweeted that the interview between Morway and the Portland Trail Blazers for their general amanger position went very well, and that Morway will meet with Blazers owner Paul Allen on Friday:
Team president Larry Miller and Bert Kolde, the head of the Blazers' board of directors, interviewed Morway, according to OregonLive.com. He's the fourth candidate to have interviewed for the position, joining Noah Croom, Steve Kerr and Jeff Bower.
It'd be a significant loss for the Pacers, who have had a great season, and have been getting better with Morway at the helm. He took over Indiana's general manager job in 2008 and has been with the organization since 1999. If he's meeting with owner Paul Allen, one has to think that Morway is either the guy or a finalist for the position. Should be interesting to see which way this goes.
