Greencastle, Ind. - Seventh-ranked DePauw extended its conference home win streak to 66 following a 71-36 North Coast Athletic Conference win over College of Wooster. With their 12th straight victory, the Tigers improved to 13-1 overall and remained the only unbeaten team in NCAC play at 6-0. The Fighting Scots dropped to 2-12 for the season and 1-5 in conference play.
DePauw senior forward and leading scorer Katie Aldrich was forced to the bench after picking up two fouls in the opening two minutes and Wooster jumped out to an early 5-1 lead after Suvi Puripattarapan's three-pointer. Coming out of a timeout, the Tigers scored the next nine to take a 10-5 lead.
The Fighting Scots added a basket with 12:22 left, but that would be their final points of the half as the Tigers scored the final 23 to take a commanding 33-7 halftime lead. In the second half, DePauw extended its lead to as many as 44 points at 64-20.
The win was sealed thanks in large part to the Tigers' ability to force 29 turnovers and surrender only eight which resulted in a season-high 46 points off turnovers. The Tigers shot 38.5 percent from the field and the offense was bolstered by season-high 39 bench points as 13 different players scored. Defensively, the Tigers held the Wooster squad to 29.4 percent shooting, had 11 steals and earned a 40-30 rebounding advantage.
Junior guard Kate Walker and freshman guard Lauren Abendroth each scored 12 points to lead the Tigers, while sophomore Ali Ross added 10. Sophomore Alex Gasaway led the Tigers with nine rebounds and two blocks, while Aldrich led with three assists.
Senior Samantha Sulzer led Wooster with 12 points and shared rebounding honors with junior Jessica Wingen as each had six. Puripattarapan had a team-high three assists.
