The famous Marion County Tournament is one of the best in-season high school tournament in the country. This year's even has been loaded with tons of Division I basketball talent in Yogi Ferrell and Jeremy Hollowell (Indiana Hoosiers), Ronnie Johnson (Purdue Boilermakers), Patrick Ingram (Iowa Hawkeyes), Eron Harris (West Virginia Mountaineers).

The final four of this prestigious tournament will take place tonight at Southport with Pike facing Ben Davis in the first semifinal and North Central facing Franklin Central in the second semifinal North Central features Ingram and Johnson, while Pike's R. J. Hunter will join his father next season at Georgia State. A North Central-Ben Davis Final would allow NC to get revenge for a 70-66 loss they suffered at the hands of Ben Davis on Jan. 6. Pike is a bit of a surprise team, as they upset Park Tudor 79-67 in the quarterfinals earlier this week. Each team has earned its way to the semifinals, as Park Tudor, Lawrence Central, Lawrence North, and Southport each have plenty of Division I talent on their rosters.

Elsewhere in the state the North Central Conference sees its top four contenders face off tonight. New Castle travels to Kokomo, where the Trojans put their 9-1 record on the line against 9-3 Kokomo. New Castle's lone loss came to Class 3A No. 1 Muncie Central, who has also beaten Kokomo to take an early 2-0 lead in the league race. Muncie Central heads to 9-2 Richmond tonight, and a win for the Bearcats would give them three victories over the three toughest contenders in the conference. Kokomo's difficult weekend also features a Saturday night home game against No. 2 Carmel on Saturday night. The Greyhounds were one of just two teams that beat Kokomo in the regular season last year.

Finally, one of the state's best local rivalries will be showcased Saturday night as Class A No. 1 Barr-Reeve heads to Class A No. 2 Loogootee. This game is always a guaranteed sellout, and it is regularly named as one of the state's best small-school rivalries. Both teams are 4-0 in the Blue Chip Conference, but they will likely meet again in the sectional.
