College basketball roundup: Spartan women roll over Hoosiers - Detroit Free Press

Porsche Poole scored 16 points and pulled in five rebounds as Michigan State blew out Indiana, 67-47, on Thursday in East Lansing.

It was the fourth straight conference win for the Spartans (12-5, 4-0 Big Ten).

Lykendra Johnson added 13 points for Michigan State, which outscored the Hoosiers from three-point range, 8-1.

Reserve Sasha Chaplin scored 13 points for Indiana (5-13, 0-5), the only Hoosier to reach double figures.

More state women

Penn State 78, Michigan 63: Maggie Lucas scored 22 points to lead host Penn State. Kate Thompson came off the bench to score 18 points for the Wolverines (13-4, 2-2 Big Ten). Zhaque Gray added 15 points for Penn State (12-4, 2-2).

Hillsdale 67, Wayne State 58: Chelsea Harrison scored 23 points and hauled in nine rebounds as Hillsdale downed host Wayne State. Katie Bildner added 15 points and five rebounds for the Chargers (6-8, 3-5 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference). Juanita Cochran led the Warriors (9-6, 4-4) with 16 points.

Detroit Mercy 71, Wisconsin-Milwaukee 48: Senee Shearer scored 20 points and the host Titans never trailed. Shearer also had six rebounds and three assists for the Titans (8-9, 4-1 Horizon League). Yar Shayok added 10 points and 12 rebounds for UDM. Wisconsin-Milwaukee (4-10, 0-4) shot 8-of-26 (30.8%).

State men

Detroit Mercy 80, Wisconsin-Green Bay 73: The Titans went on a game-ending 18-7 run to down host Green Bay. Ray McCallum Jr. scored 16 points for UDM (9-10, 3-4 Horizon League) and Jason Calliste added 14. Alec Brown led Green Bay (6-10, 2-4) with 17.

Hillsdale 78, Wayne State 72: Brad Guinane scored 21 points to lead Hillsdale to its eighth straight conference win. The Chargers (14-1, 8-0 GLIAC) hit 11 of 21 three-point shots (52.4%). Ike Udanoh led the host Warriors (8-6, 5-3) with 24 points and nine rebounds.

Big Ten men

Minnesota 77, No. 7 Indiana 74: Austin Hollins scored a career-high 18 points to help Minnesota beat host Indiana. Rodney Williams scored 14 points for the Golden Gophers (13-5, 1-4 Big Ten). Cody Zeller scored 23 points for the Hoosiers (15-2, 3-2).

Top 25 men

No. 8 Duke 61, No. 16 Virginia 58: Host Duke snapped Virginia's 12-game winning streak. Mason Plumlee scored 12 points for the Blue Devils (14-2, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference). Mike Scott scored 23 for the Cavaliers (14-2, 1-1).
