Indiana Pacers Miss a Chance to Clinch 3rd Seed - Always Miller Time

The Pacers couldn’t close out the Philadelphia 76ers last night, and will have to go again Monday against the Detroit Pistons for a chance to earn the third seed in the East.  This was a game that was very competitive and saw the Sixers get a lead of 13 points.  The Pacers battled back, especially with David West performing at his highest.  He got 32 points in this game and practically willed the Pacers to victory.

But in overtime, things started off badly for the Pacers as West fouled Lou Williams as he was shooting a three, which he made.  The Sixers went up four points just a few seconds into the overtime session.  The Pacers had been so good in overtime sessions, this one got away from them.  George Hill shot a quick three that missed, and Jrue Holiday took it the length of the court for a dunk, and put Philadelphia up 3 points to stay ahead.

The Pacers messed up in overtime when they couldn’t get the ball inbounds and got five seconds called on them.  They got a lucky break when the jump ball when to George Hill, but couldn’t connect on the final possession and walked away as the loser in this one 109-106.

This game saw the return of Darren Collison, who looks to be adjusting to his role coming off the bench. With as great as Danny Granger has been playing, this one was not good.  He didn’t play well on defense, which is something that’s always been a downfall of his.  He needs to step up on that end, especially if he’s having an off shooting night.  But he should get right on track against the Pistons, who aren’t a good team.

David West, once again, is just having a tremendous week. He’s looking like the guy that played so well for the Hornets, and should be a great asset to this playoff run.  That run gets started next week.  But let’s finish up the season with two wins, and things should be good for the Pacers.
