For the Fighting Irish (11-6, 3-1 Big East), Scott Martin added a double- double with 15 points and 13 rebounds and Jerian Grant scored 14 points.

Augustus Gilchrist led the Bulls (9-8, 2-2) with 13 points, while Jawanza Poland finished with 12 points, and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick and Ron Anderson Jr. each pulled down 10 rebounds.

The teams played a close first half. South Florida shot 42.3 percent from the field in the first half, but missed all five three-point attempts. Notre Dame shot 46.2 percent from the floor and was able to connect on 5-of-9 attempts from beyond the arc, to take a 30-24 lead into halftime.

After the break, the Irish were able to extend their lead by shooting 50 percent from the field, while holding the Bulls to just 34.5 percent shooting from the floor, including just 1-of-8 from long distance. Notre Dame pushed its advantage to as many as 17 points and were able to cruise to victory.

Notre Dame won its 29th straight home game. USF outscored Notre Dame 36-30 in the paint and outrebounded them 35-29.
