Sacramento Kings Off Season Recap
Not much to report as far as the Kings go this off season. Â Theyâve got a young group of players under contract, so there wasnât much resigning to do. Â The Kings did retain Jason Thompson, whoâs the second best big man on the team. Â In the long run, heâll probably play behind DeMarcus Cousins and Thomas Robinson. Â But Robinson is a rookie, who might not see a lot of playing time until heâs comfortable out there. Â Aaron Brooks was also picked up this off season. Brooks spent last season playing in China, but was the Most Improved Player in the league in 2010. Â Also, giving Coach Keith Smart an extension gives stability for the team. Â He looks to be a good coach for the group they have there. Â So hopefully, heâll get the time to develop this team.
Unfortunately, in the loaded Western Conference, this Kings team wonât be a playoff bound team. Â Itâs been a while since this team has been relevant, and I donât know how long DeMarcus Cousins will take to grow up. I see the franchise moving along as he grows up. Â If he can come around sooner, then things will be better for the Sacramento Kings.
Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings Match Up
I think some of the Kings big men if they play the right way can challenge Roy Hibbert and David West. Â If DeMarcus Cousins comes together, heâll be tough to play in the post. Â But heâs got to mature and show that heâs ready to play the time that he can play.
Tyreke Evans is a great guard for the team. Â Maybe heâll be the new face of this franchise as they desperately need that. Â Itâs been so long since the Kings have been relevant, and had some star power on the team. Â Evans can play, and he can make the guys around him better.
I canât imagine this Kings team giving the Pacers any trouble. Once again, itâs a Western Conference opponent, so I donât put much stock in wins and losses against that. Â Unless itâs one of the better teams, and the Kings are not that. Â The Pacers should win these games against the Kings.
