David West Player Profile - Always Miller Time

May 15, 2012; Miami, FL, USA; Indiana Pacers power forward David West (21) during the second half in game two of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Miami Heat of the 2012 NBA Playoffs at American Airlines Arena. The Pacers won 78-75. Mandatory Credit: Steve Mitchell-US PRESSWIRE

2011-2012 Season Review:     David West came to Indiana and seemed to bring a leadership presence to the team.  You felt like the Pacers were calmer on the floor, and had a guy that could speak out to players.  That type of player hasn’t been around since Reggie Miller, and this team needed that.  West gave that leadership that the Pacers have been looking for in all those years.  He also put up some scoring punch and helped Roy Hibbert in the post area.  But to me, and I hope most fans they say what a figure he was all around to this team.

2012-2013 Season Preview:    West is signed on for another year, but I hope the Pacers can convince him to stick around for a few more after that. I feel like he would be such a great asset to this younger team.  He seems to fit right in with the organization, so I can’t imagine it wouldn’t work out.  As far as the upcoming season goes, I know he’ll continue to help out with the offense end.  He can continue to roam the paint area with Roy Hibbert.  He can give some leadership when guys are on the floor.  He’ll do what it takes to help the Pacers contend in the East, and that’s plenty to ask of him.
