Connecticut Sun Beat Indiana Fever, 89-81 - Hartford Courant

Tina Charles had her fourth double-double of the season, and 49th of her career, as the Connecticut Sun beat the Indiana Fever 89-81 on Friday in Indianapolis.

Charles finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds. The Sun's Asjha Jones also had a double-double, with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Kara Lawson led the Sun with 18 points.

"I thought we did a good job on Tina Charles," said Fever coach Lin Dunn. "We made it hard for her to score. But their bench hurt us."

Tan White had her first points of the season, coming off the bench to score 10 points. Seven Sun players scored in double figures, the most since July 6, 2007, against Phoenix.

It was the Sun's first win in Indianapolis since July 14, 2010.

Tamika Catchings led the Fever with 31 points. She and Tammy Sutton-Brown had eight rebounds apiece.

The game had 10 lead changes and seven ties. The Fever led 79-78 with 2:52 left in the game, but the Sun went on an 11-2 run to finish.

The Sun hit 16 of 17 free throws, including 15 in a row to start the game.
