The Indiana Pacers might have lost game one of their playoff series to the Miami Heat by a score of 95-86, but the Heat were the ones left worried at the end with the third wheel of their superstar trio Chris Bosh knocked out with a groin injury.
Bosh is a big part of the Heat's game, as pointed out by Mike Prada of SB Nation in a column detailing how the Heat's title hopes -- and even their hopes of winning their series against the Pacers -- could be shot with Bosh out of the picture.
All this said, he's still an incredibly important part of the Heat's core. If he's lost for any significant amount of time due to a groin injury suffered in the first half of the Heat's 95-86 win over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, the Heat are in big trouble. Maybe they can get by the Pacers -- emphasis on the maybe there -- but they need Bosh in the lineup if they want to fulfill their title dreams.
Sunday's result provides a little hope, but Heat fans shouldn't make too much out of the game. The Heat won, but they needed a superhuman effort from James and Wade to make it happen. James and Wade outscored Indiana by themselves in the second half, turning the screws up a notch like the great players they are.
Indiana winning the conference isn't a sure thing even with Bosh out against the reigning Eastern Conference Champions, but if Mike is correct about Bosh's importance to the team in the long run the Pacers might feel better about their chances as the series goes along despite the game one set back.
