The four year starter at Notre Dame from 1980-83 and uncle to Irish QB Gunner Kiel was found dead in the Columbus home of a family friend on Sunday.

Apr 8, 2012 - Blair Kiel, a former four year starter at quarterback for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and a former starter for the Indianapolis Colts, was found dead in the home of a family friend at age 50 in Columbus on Sunday:

According to the report, witnesses told officers Rundle was inside the restroom crying and refusing to come out and that Kiel had abused and grabbed her earlier in the evening. When Rundle came out of the restroom, Kiel, who officers said "had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages, bloodshot and glassy eyes," became belligerent and was asked to leave the stadium.

The officer who escorted Kiel from the stadium saw him back inside yelling at Rundle several minutes later. Kiel reportedly shoved the officer as he again tried to escort him out of the stadium, and struck the officer several times as the officer tried to place him under arrest.
