Indiana tries to snap three-game losing streak against Penn State.
Jan 22, 2012 - The Indiana Hoosiers (15-4, 3-4) look to get better at home on Saturday when the Penn State Nittany Lions (10-10, 2-5) visit Assembly Hall.
The Hoosiers are reeling after losing their last three games in Big Ten play, including a one-point loss on Wednesday at Nebraska that exposed Indiana's defensive woes of late. After a strong start to the season, the Hoosiers need to recapture the home court advantage that helped push them past Kentucky, Ohio State and Michigan.
Indiana's last win came at Penn State where they needed to make 16 of 24 three-pointers to hold off the Nittany Lions, 88-82. Guards Jordan Hulls and Matt Roth accounted for 12 of those makes behind the arc and finished with 28 and 22 points respectively.
The Hoosiers can't rely on that type of shooting exhibition today and instead need to assert more pressure on the defensive end and make sure Cody Zeller get his touches on offense.
Penn State should be feeling pretty good as they arrive in Bloomington after beating Illinois at home on Thursday. Junior guard Tim Frazier leads the Nittany Lions with 17.8 points per game.
The game is slated to start at noon and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
