Gunner Kiel's surprise last-minute decision to enroll at Notre Dame was great news for the Fighting Irish, but the biggest concern now is wondering which players will be his future go-to threats.Â
The loss of Michael Floyd puts the Fighting Irish in a bind because they don't have a proven playmaker that strikes fear in opposing teams. However, this could change with incoming recruits, as well as current players on the roster who know they need to step up.Â
Brian Kelly is putting together one of the best 2012 recruiting classes in the country, but there is always room for improvement. With National Signing Day quickly approaching, Notre Dame has the chance to land a few more top-notch recruits.Â
The focus will be on adding speed as well as strength in the coming weeks. Notre Dame needs big-time recruits right now, especially skill position players to help them thrive in the future.Â

Justin Ferguson
That being said, here are three prospects that will be future weapons for Gunner Kiel.Â
Deontay Greenberry, WRÂ
Greenberry committed to Notre Dame way back in May of 2011, and the Fighting Irish are certainly thankful he hasn't strayed from his word.Â
The recent trend in college football is star athletes de-committing from schools, leaving programs with a huge hole to fill. Greenberry was recently named Cal-Hi Sports' Mr. Football State Player of the Year, which goes to show the Fighting Irish are getting a stellar player.Â
In his senior season, Greenberry recorded 2,165 yards and 33 touchdowns to help carry his team to a state title.Â
Listed at 6'2" and 185 pounds, Greenberry has a size advantage over a few of Notre Dame's rising junior wideouts, which could help him see the field of play early on.Â
Eventually, Kiel is going to be the starter. When that happens, Greenberry will become a favorite target because of his height, vertical skills, super hands and ability to be a deep-ball threat.Â
Justin Ferguson, WRÂ
Another strong wideout with a good frame, Ferguson has the skills to really thrive at the collegiate level.Â
His speed and his physical style of play is what really stands out. Listed at 6'1", 205 pounds, Ferguson will no doubt be a future star for the Fighting Irish.Â
Like Greenberry, he too committed to Notre Dame back in May of 2011, and he definitely had to be pleased when he learned Kiel was planning to enroll.Â
If Ferguson continues to bulk up, his future at Notre Dame looks even brighter. Ferguson recently took to Twitter to share his thoughts about Kiel joining the Fighting Irish.
Expect this incoming freshman to make some noise once he arrives on campus. Not only he is pumped to play, he's got the talent to back it up.

Stefon Diggs, ATHÂ
First and foremost, Notre Dame has to get Diggs first before they can consider him Kiel's future weapon.
Given Diggs' skills, though, he'll be a weapon for whichever QB ends up starting in 2012. Listed at 6'0" and 185 pounds, this exceptional athlete will be an immediate impact for the school he ends up choosing.
Should it be Notre Dame, Diggs can help fill the void that Michael Floyd has left. The Fighting Irish need a playmaker and Diggs is one of the best incoming freshman in the country.
According to Derek Tyson of ESPN, the schools Diggs is considering are Notre Dame, Florida, Cal, Auburn, USC, Maryland, Ohio State and Virginia. He will wait until after National Signing Day to make his choice.Â
With the skill set to play running back and/or wide receiver, Diggs' versatility makes him a dangerous threat, which is why Notre Dame has to do whatever it takes to get him.Â
