The Indiana Hoosiers can snap a two game losing streak with a win in Nebraska today.
Jan 18, 2012 - The Indiana Hoosiers a week ago were on top of the world after winning their 15th game of the season to move up to 15-1 (3-1) overall and move their ranked status ever higher. A week later and they're reeling in the middle of the Big 10 table after two straight losses to the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes loss stung especially because they had defeated Ohio State in a great game on New Year's Eve earlier in the season and Ohio swiftly got their revenge.
Fortunately, Indiana got drawn against two of the lower level teams in the Big 10 this week, taking on 9-8 (1-5) Nebraska today at Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln. Not exactly playing the Syracuses of the world but Indiana will take momentum wherever they can get it at the moment. Indiana will likely look to get an early lead and pile on in this one, Nebraska are not incredibly proficient at scoring points and the difference in points per game between the teams is 9th in the country vs. 306th in the country. Yes, Indiana is the 9th.
Nobody in the Big 10 currently has a record better than Illinois' 4-1 -- though Michigan has a 5-2 record -- so every team is only a couple of wins away from being in the lead of the conference. Indiana are a fantastically talented team so you'd imagine they will recover themselves and get themselves back into it.
