Jan 24, 2012 - Coming off of the worst shooting performance of his career, Purdue's Robbie Hummel is due for a big game. The senior forward for Purdue Boilermakers had a career low two points at Michigan State on Saturday as Purdue was drilled by the Spartans. As Hammer & Rails points out, this is a team in search of a marquee victory in order to boost its NCAA profile:

One thing I would like to see us do is make an effort to get Sandi Marcius and Travis Carroll involved more offensively. Carroll lately has been doing an excellent job of rotating to the basket off of screens, but we're not finding him for open look. Marcius has been establishing his position as well, but aside from a few random moments, they aren't getting the ball on offense less than 20 feet from the basket. If Carroll is rotating open off the screen, hit him with the pass until the defense respects it.

Michigan enters off of a loss at Arkansas where the Wolverines fell behind early, but they couldn't come all the way back:

The Razorbacks ran out to a 29-10 lead before missing a shot from the field or from the free throw line (11-11 from the field and 3-3 from the line). It was a nightmare scenario for Michigan to start the game: the Wolverines were cold shooting the ball, a couple of quick turnovers forced by the Arkansas press led to easy buckets on the other end, and the Razorbacks literally could not miss. The sellout crowd was extremely loud and contributed to the lack of poise and composure from Michigan and the frenetic play on the court.

The crowd could be an issue, as Michigan is 1-4 in true road games this season.
